What in the world is happening with advertising! — Now I love to think ‘in the box’ of the client, and out of the box of the rest of the world! This makes the creativity unique. Please don’t get me wrong, I live for creativity, but marketing today is reaching deep and insulting the intelligence of the consumer!!!! I just saw a commercial for Jos. A. Banks. They are offering a business suit for $199. Their ‘shtick’ for this sale is that even if you lose your job, you can keep this suit! WHAT??? I had to listen over and over again to make sure that I understood what they were ‘not’ trying to say.
Respect your customer. Don’t cheapen your brand/business brand just to get a sale. If this is subliminal suggestion in reverse, I just don’t get it. Getting attention is one thing…
